Kazeem Olalekan Israel, a writer who doubles as media aide to the Hon. Commissioner for Youth and Sport at the Ministy of Youths and Sports Oyo State has shown displeasure in the Ooni of Ife’s press statement.

Kazeem complained about the traditional ruler’s emphasis on protest being the fundamental right of every person rather than condemning the action of  his people(Ife indigenes).

He said, “I keep wondering what fundamental right he was talking about in a violent agitation of his people over the internal affair of the University.”

Kazeem further stated that, indeed, ignorance has crept stealthy into our community and now reigns supreme.

“What was displayed by those Ife indigenes is a collective insult and a disgrace to the whole Yoruba race. It calls for all reasonable and well meaning Yoruba sons and daughters to come together to review our socio-cultural, political and educational value orientations not some sort of validation.” he added.
