ON JAMB AND THE STUDENT WHO FORGED HER SCORES- By Akin Benjamin
Socialization into vices is at the root of that issue.
That hapless young girl (Ejikeme Mmesoma) could not have done that all by herself!
There are many tutors and chaperons who themselves were birthed by an earlier generation of mago mago, aiyederu people.
In a society where parents will buy the “expo”, and pay teachers or mercenaries to either teach the child or outrightly sit for the exam as an impersonator, it is logical that such will perpetuate if drastic pragmatic measures are not taken!
Here, I am not referring to the awkward* bring your Android phones and attempt your exams on it ” as JAMB was alleged to be planning!
It should not take this long to uncover the forgery of the result. How many more are still out there yet to be nabbed?
Instead of declaring Billions in income from the gradual mercantilism approach of JAMB, grandstanding and dancing on the putrid graves of previous admirations, why not improve digital security, weed out corrupt hands, and ensure that the examination and admissions process is “tight”?
I have refused to show the picture of the young girl who has become the unfortunate scapegoat for many others before her and those in her age range.
The real culprits are those who facilitated, aided, and enabled the forgery! They should be fished out and dealt with!
When such pictures are brought out I will share and revisit this festering sore.
I have also decided not to celebrate any other” highest scorer “. Who knows how they procured theirs?
Ours is a stinking society in need of real fumigation and sanitization right from top to bottom!
Oops! At least we have that last phrase as a legacy from the last lackluster leadership that fought corruption to a standstill with a toothpick!
Proud and passionate teacher.
