Former Nigeria interim leader, Ernest shonekan dies at 85.
According to Lagosreporters, it was said that Chief Ernest Adegunle Oladehinde Shonekan who headed the Interim government that succeeded the junta of General Ibrahim Babangida died at Evercare hospital, in the Lekki area of Lagos State, at the age of 85.
He headed Nigeria as an Interim Head of the Nigerian government between August 26 and November 17, 1993, before he was ousted in a coup led by late General Sani Abacha.

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered that the national flag be flown at half-mast, following the death of the former Head of the interim government, Chief Ernest Adegunle Oladeinde Shonekan.
Secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha conveyed the President’s order on Tuesday night.
The President of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari gave the order which is effective from Wednesday 12th till Friday 14th January, as a mark of respect for the former Head of State who died on Tuesday 11th January 2022.
