Naija News had reported earlier that bandit terrorists on Monday planted explosives believed to be IEDs on the rail track around Katari, Kaduna State which saw a Kaduna-bound train derail.
It was gathered that the train which took off around 6 pm from the Idu train station at the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja on Monday hit an explosive device about 30 minutes to Rigasa train station in Kaduna.
A combined team of security operatives reportedly responded to the situation and were able to bring some passengers to safety.
A security source who spoke on the incident said, “There is no network in the area so we cannot get any information until the team we have dispatched returns.

“What we know is that suspected IEDs were planted on the track and the train has derailed. We don’t know for sure if there is any injury or death.”
An uproar, however, started moments later after it was discovered that a female medical practitioner allegedly died in the incident.
Naija News understands that the victim who is identified as Chinelo had earlier raised an alarm on Twitter that she was shot on the train.
“I’m on the train. I have been shot please pray for me”, Chinelo’s last tweet on the microblogging platform read.
Her friend, @the_beardedsina via his Twitter handle on Tuesday morning disclosed that she didn’t make it.
”Just woke up to sad news My friend just woke up to losing a close friend who was shot at the Abuja Kaduna train incident by terrorists She tweeted yesterday that we should pray for her. Sadly she didn’t make it. She was a Doctor in Nigeria why? I’m heartbroken.
“I was just here yesterday tweeting and asking if there were medical personnel on the train who could offer emergency services And some people were here saying why will I think of such a thing? for basic first aid to be provided for injured May Nigeria not happen to us,” the friend of the deceased wrote in bitterness.
