BREAKING: Court remands skit maker, Trinity Guy
A Magistrate Court situated at Iyaganku, Ibadan, Oyo State capital, has ordered the remand of skit maker, Abdullahi Maruff Adisa, popularly known as Trinity Guy, in prison over allegation of sexualising minor in his viral skit video.
Recall that the Nigerian Police, through Force Public Relation Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, called for the arrest of Trinityguy following a viral video of his dangerous pranks.
A statement by the Oyo State Police Command on Friday, disclosed that the skit maker and parent of the little girl in viral video were quizzed by the Command and would appear in court Monday (today).
Appearing before the Magistrate, Olúdáre Adebayo, counsel to the defendant who was brought before the magistrate by the Police, urged the court to grant his client bail.
The Prosecution Counsel, Insp Oluwakemi Arowosaye, had earlier told the court that the three defendants conspired together to sexually abuse the girl.\
According to Arowosaye, “Trinity Guy, on Dec. 17, 2022, sexually abused and exploited the girl at Kuola area of Ibadan.
“Abdullahi was asking the victim the colour of his penis, recording the scene and posting it on social media,” she said.
The prosecutor stated that the offences are contrary to Section 35 (1) and punishable under Section 35 (2) of Oyo State Child Right’s Law, 2006.
Arowosaye said that the offences also contravened Section 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
Magistrate PO Adetuyibi, while denying the plea for bail by defence counsel for want of jurisdiction, stated that case had been filled and duplicated at Ministry of Justice.
According to her, not until the ministry of justice accepted to withdraw it that she could hear the matter.
The court also ordered that the parents of the little girl in the video be remanded alongside Trinity Guy till next sitting.
The Magistrate therefore adjourned till July 11.
