All union in Adeyemi College of Education charge a peaceful protest to the FG on the need for VC:
The academic and non-academic staff union of Adeyemi College of Education ( ACE ) staged a peaceful protest yesterday against the alleged failure of the Federal Government to allow the institution to begin operation as a full-fledge university after it had been upgraded to varsity status. Also they decried the non-appointment of a Vice-Chancellor
Since Adeyemi college of education has been announced as a university, it was said that Adeyemi college of education has not been running a university which is counted as an illegal act.
According to Comrade Oguayo Clatus the chairman of SSUCOEN (Senior Staff Union College Of education), he said ” since December last year, when this college, college of education , Adeyemi college of education was repelled and gazette to a university, Adeyemi federal university of education, since that time, we not have not gotten our V.C, we have not gotten the university status.

” We are protesting today because we want to create an awareness, we want to sensitize the government, we want to sensitize the community, all those that are concerned, all stakeholders to ensure that we get our university”
The P.R.O of SSUCOEN, Mr. Kayode Olusegun Alani said ” it is now becoming unbecoming to still see that Adeyemi still remain Adeyemi college of education , this is uncalled for and this is our reason for agitation this thing has being gazette . We are expecting the full fledge operation. And let me take you back to the memory lane in 1996, this school has been upgraded, it was abolished , in 2015 again, it was upgraded some power behind it. This is the third time and that is why we have stood on our feet and we are not going to leave any stone unturned, we are going to see that we pursue this to a reasonable conclusion.” Also at the peaceful protest, comrade Akinwumi Babalola the P.R.O of NACEATON ( National Association Of college of education Academic Technologists Of Nigeria), Comrade Olafusi O.S member of NASU ( Non – A cadmic staff Union) were also present at the protest.
ACE staff have appealed to the federal government to complete all bills so that the college will take fledge as a university and vice chancellor should be appointed to the university.
Meanwhile, The College of Education Academic Staff Union, Adeyemi College of Education chapter, Ondo State COEASU in a letter to the Minister for Education, a copy of which was made available to newsmen yesterday, urged the minister to set in motion the appointment of the Vice Chancellor for the institution. The letter, dated June 22, 2022 was jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the union, Comrades Dr. Adetokunboh Adepoju and Dr. Joel Edafe, respectively.
